Sweet malty aroma & a sweet malty flavor to go w/ it. Slightly bitter finish. Not much going on, nothing more to say here. FROTHINGSLOSH (2038), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 14, 2007 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright orange-amber color with a small orange-white head. The aroma was sweet and tangy with an undercurrent of sour nut. The flavor was bitter and tangy with notes of maple and nut. There was a long oily nutty finish but the bitterness overwhelms the nut too much for this beer to be craveable - bonus points for inventiveness though. mjg74 (2000), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Bottle from BevMo.Medium amber/orange color upon pouring. Malty aroma with some sweet pecan. Crisp beer with a solid malt backbone. A little bit of hoppiness. The pecans round out the beer pretty well, I think. molias (4), Buffalo, New York, USA does not count | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 11, 2007 I love ambers and enjoy experimenting with the variations of the traditional style. Lighter color than expected with a whimsical head. Many flavors make up the complex overall taste of this beer.... possibly too many. Nice nutty small and finish to the sip... hop and malt balance is good but mouthfeel lacks a bit... a bit too thin for all the flavors there. This may contribute to the lack of lingering flavor... | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 8, 2007 Bottle sampled. Pours a orange/amber with a small white head. Aroma of pecans, caramel malts, biscuits, and a hint of toffee. Slight pecan flavor with toasted malts, caramel, toffee, and some light earthy hoppiness and has a dry and bitter finish. Pour was a nice hazy orange with a one finger head that leaves instantly. Taste was very...well...pecan-y with a nice mix of light malt and a bit of honey in the aftertaste. I wouldn’t describe this as an amber ale, but it is damn good. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

Pours a clear copper body that supports a chunky head of off-white.
Caramel, nuts and honey aroma.
Thin oily body.
The flavor is light malt with just the slightest bit of bitterness towards the finish.
Simple, bland.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 1, 2007 Bottled at Akkurat, Stockholm. Clear roast red,smallfirm head. Sweet with clean, hard mouthfeel. Evident nutty/woody flavour that I assume is derived from the pecans, Low bitterness. A bit one-dimensional, and the malt profile is well simplistic.
