Commercial Description:
It may sound nuts, but most ales with nutty flavors or aromas are made without any real nuts. Abita Pecan Harvest Ale is made with real Louisiana pecans. The natural oils from the nuts give the ale a light pecan finish and aroma. It’s wonderful paired up with both red meats and seafood - and no suprise it’s great with nuts too. Abita Pecan Harvest Ale, crack one open for yourself today.

12 oz bottle from Whole Foods. Aroma good, nutty nose increased as the beer warmed. Golden color, slight haze. Flavor good, low flavors under extremly cold flavors but better as the beer warms - nutty flavor at end with real ale flavor. Palate good and overall impression was good. Found beer to be better then Abita Amber.

From 12 oz bottle, pours a golden brown in color, mostly transparent, and has a diminishing off-white to beige head. I don’t really detect any nuts or pecan in the aroma, only some caramel and roasted maltiness. The flavour was light, sweet, somewhat toasty maltiness along with a mild earthy bitterness balancing it out. It’s okay, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to repeat it.

Bottle sample. Pours a clearish brown with a thin tan head. Malty aroma with caramel, nuts and berries. Caramel malt flavor up front with a nutty and watery finish.

Poured clear brown/amber with a larger foamy off-white head. Aromas of cereal, grass, pecans, and some caramel malts. Taste is pretty simple, mainly caramel malts with an aftertaste of nuts. A good amount of flavor and very smooth, just not that interesting.

It pours deep amber with light notes of malt. This malt does get enhanced on the MF with the scent and flavor of nuts that drive further home during the long finish.

Pours a beautiful brownish orange. Doesn’t pack much flavor though. I was hoping for an assault on the senses. It is much too subtle for me.
