Commercial Description:
Real Louisiana satsumas, golden wheat and the finest barley create Satsuma Harvest Wit. Pale and cloudy, like the haze on a hot summer day, this white beer has a sweet and subtle citrus flavor that is cool and refreshing. Abita Satsuma Harvest Wit is a summertime brew that’s Louisiana True.

[Bottle] Pours a hazy yellow color with about a fingers worth of white head. Aroma of spice and light grains. The taste includes some yeast, clove and moderate citrus notes. Fine carbonation gives this beer a surprisingly decent palate for the style. Light coriander and grass notes finish it off. I usually like Wit beers, but this one left a bit to be desired.

Pours a very hazy yellow (light orange hint to it) with a thin white head. Aroma has a heavy citrus note with lots of lemon, a very tart sourness, a modest amount of wheat with a light spiciness to it. Flavor has a wheat note early but then fades to a light orange, light vanilla, overall pretty sweet. It almost has a hint of cream soda in it. Body of the beer is pretty heavy and has a dense creamy feeling. Overall not too bad of a brew and the first time I have ever tasted anything that is satsuma.

12 oz. single bottle from Total Wine in Jacksonville, FL. Small orange aroma and taste is similar. Not much in the way of wit, although it has a good wheat taste. Light and refreshing, not too bad.

12 oz bottle from soonah. Pours a slight hazed thin body golden yellow with a smaller sized bright white frothy head. Aroma is a combination of a macro lager and orange juice and a touch of rotting wet wheat. Palate is on the thin to medium side with bubbly carbonation. Flavor of artificial orange flavor thrown into a subpar wit. Blah but hey it’s another tick!!

Pours a hazy straw yellow with a fairly thick white head. Aroma is wheaty and a little yeasty with a good undertone of citrus, mainly orange. Flavor is wheaty with a bit of yeast and a touch of orange; it started out a bit wan but got better as I continued. Texture is smooth with a good tingly undertone, and the finish is a little yeasty and a little orangy.
