| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 11, 2009 I love the Abita Brewery for what they are - for making it through Katrina and Rita and keeping everyone on the payroll, for committing to rebuilding the Gulf Coast. Thing is, I don’t actually like wit beer that much. I was hoping for a more citrus-y flavor, but the flavor is really the floral taste of the satsuma blossom. It’s a round, soft wheat beer - OK if you like that kind of thing. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 10, 2009 7/08/2009: Abita Satsuma Harvest Wit has a cloudy pale gold color and a generous beige head. There appears to be plenty of carbonation. The yeasty and sweet citrus aroma gives way to flavors that are fruity along with some slightly bitter orange. There is quite a bit of spice a nd corriander that is almost overwhelming toward the end. This beer is light to medium-light and crisp. I was expecting more orange citrus flavor and maybe a bit more sweetness, but got tons of spice and pepper instead!

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 8, 2009 12oz bottle (Malt beverage brewed with fruit & spices). Pours a slightly hazy yellow golden with a dense fine frothy white head. Faint aroma, a bit pungent, sweeter fuller candied wheat, some citrus syrup, coriander. Flavor is off-dry, clearly a fruit syrup added beer, coriander, candied wheat, light tangy citrus syrup, Abita sparkling water characteristic, orange mineral waterish. Long coriander finish with a dry aftertaste. Medium/light bodied with lively abundant larger fizzy soda carbonation, just lightly syrupy. legion242 (1586), Richardson, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 8, 2009 A bit too citrusy for me. I could maybe last to bottles of this, but it would become too cloying after more then that.
