Mouthfeel is velvety. Aroma is faint wood, banana, and cilantro. Flavor is lemon, wheat, mineral, and weak citrus. Yeah, this will turn your saturday into a sunday... | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 14, 2008 Updated: Mar 31, 2009A special on this date at the Abita Brew Pub. Pours a golden orange juice like color with a small white head. Leaves only little bit of lacing. Nose is distinctly citrus and yeasty. Taste is an interesting and (going by the name and commercial description); predictable twist on the traditional Belgian Wit. It tastes like a nice classic wit with the taste of satsuma (a variety of orange of Oriental origin and widely grown in Louisiana, for those unfamiliar) nicely blended in. Spices like coriander and clove also apparent in a nicely balanced combination. Sweet, herby/spice finish. jimmiec (64), Louisiana, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jul 1, 2009 This is a lovely wit. The pour is cloudy pale yellow with a nice white head. The orange flavor is just fine; fresh tasting and not overpowering. It’s a fine drink for a hot summer evening. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 4, 2009 Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Smell is wheaty and slightly floral and lemony. Nice smelling beer. Taste is citrusy, slightly tart, wheaty and smooth. Pretty refreshing and probably Abita’s best beer in my opinion. Medium body and carbonation. Nice. nuplastikk (1206), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

The aroma is all Satsuma, lots of tangy citrus. Tangy orange taste as well, with some pleasant wheat to smooth it out. There is also some vanilla in the aftertaste. Overall a pretty good White beer, exceeding my expectations. illinismitty (1799), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 30, 2009 Bottle from Whole Foods. Pours a hazy orange yellow with a white head. The aroma is very nice- orange peel, fruity esters, wheat malts, banana. Mouthfeel is about average for the style. Flavor of pale wheat malts, clove, yeast, white pepper. The citrusy flavors are overpowered by the clove and white pepper. Refreshing and light finish. Not horrible and this is probably getting a bad rap because it’s from Abita. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 3, 2009 Appearance: Pours a lightly hazed, pale yellow body with a thin, white head.
Smell: Nose of unmalted wheat and raw, wholesome oats with solid notes of generously added spices and, of course, the Satsuma (coming across as scent of orange and lemon).
Taste: Moderately tangy wheat rounded out slightly by some smooth, crisp oats and a touch of overall sweetness. Pinch of earthy spices along with the sweetish citrus Satsuna taste. Light bitterness midway through. The wheat and the fruit carry you effortlessly to the drying, crisp finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body, though, at times, it’s flirting with being watery. Medium-high carbonation.
Drinkability: Pleasantly refreshing and goes down far too easy. It’s by no means an outstanding wit, but, in my opinion, it’s one of the better Abita beers available.
