FishManLA (284), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA Jun 20, 2009 Probably not the same recipe as the 2003 release. This is a new Select released in June 2009, but I didn’t want to add another Abita beer unnecessarily. The 2009 recipe is richly colored for a pilsner. The color might be best described as "rose brass". Produces a medium sized head that dissipates fairly quickly and leaves only very light lacing. Nose is fairly potent with sweet malt. Flavor is sweet and malty with hops coming on in the flavor a beat after the malt and remaining for the finish. Mouthfeel is tingly and slightly astringent. An above average pilsner. ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA Oct 19, 2004 Had this a few weeks ago while visiting New Orleans. Enjoyed this on tap at the bar while waiting for a table at The Red Fish Grille in the Quarter. This brew has a light and fresh nose though faint. The brew is a light golden amber, and was poured without a head. The flavor is grainy and sweet without much other than freshness going for it. The brew is light and watery, with average carbonation.
