Commercial Description:
Released July 2004. Our Kolsch is made with Pilsner and Wheat malt from Weyermann, a famous German malting company, and hops from the Hallertau region of Germany. The beer is fermented with ale yeast from Cologne Germany and cold aged for eight weeks. The result is a light body, straw colored ale that is clean, crisp, and refreshing. Delicate flavors of malt and hops linger on the palate. Our Kolsch is perfect for the hot summer months.

Poured a lightly hazy golden color with a medium sized, white head, that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus straw, light dough, and a few different hops. Taste of citrus fruit, toasted malts, and faint hops. Sweet, with balanced bitterness. This was a decent kolsch. I had to rate one Abita before I can’t find them anymore.

Deep straw in color with a small white head. Hoppy and grainy malt aroma. Moderately bitter flavor, malty with a sweet wheat tang.

Hazy green-gold. Clear water aroma. Very grainy, almost eastern European lager flavor. Biscuity, light tang, not much hops. Thinnish and not very interesting. Long doughy finish. Disappointing after a pair of pretty good Abita ales.
