wow i really love this brew. it pours a really dark brown with a light and airy tan head. Has a super roasted coffee with good hints of choclate in the after taste. This is one brew that i will be enjoying again real soon.

Sep 6, 2008 Nice appearance dark red/brown, sweet, toffee, rich and thick. Creamy head, nice lasting aftertaste.

Sep 4, 2008 Dark brown pour with a thick foamy tan head. Aroma of burnt malt, molasses and funky yeast. Flavor wasn’t nearly as interesting. The burnt malt seems to overpower everything else. A bit thin on the palate. Not too impressive.

Sep 4, 2008 Thin dark pour with a fluffy khaki colored head. Yeast, roast, and maple on the nose. Roast, coffee, and chocolate. Unbalanced

Aug 27, 2008 Pours a watery black from the bottle with an almost fizzy tan head. Yeast and faint molasses on the nose with flavors of dark cocoa, toasted malts, and copper in the taste. Appears to be a stout, but tastes very much like an unbalanced brown.

Aug 26, 2008 Dark with ruby highlights and thin white head hardly a hint of aroma. Slight burnt roastiness/coffee thin palate (seems typical of the Abita’s I’ve had). Not sure if this wants to be a stout or dark lager with the roasiness but it’s not what I’d expect from a brown, either.
