Commercial Description:
Abita Turbodog is a dark brown ale brewed with Willamette hops and a combination of British pale, crystal and chocolate malts. This combination gives Turbodog its rich body and color and a sweet chocolate-toffee like flavor.

Pours a dark brown/black with a mild white head that dissipates rather quickly. Pleasant aroma that is of chocolate/coffee. Very little carbonation, almost not enough. Taste is that of a wheat/hickory/coffee/chocolate. Finishes smooth and the taste perseveres through the entire drink. Could use more carbonation though. Like one rater said earlier, it would be nice to know what kinda beer this stuff is. I had no clue what style beer this was gonna be till i opened it. I guess it was a cool surprise, but i dont know. An average beer.

Trade with Fonefan. The color is red mahogany and the head is huge and creamy. The aroma has notes of malt, berries, candy sugar and caramel. The flavour has sweetness and notes of candy sugar, roasted malt, raisin, light citrus, licorice and the finish has a slightly dry bitterness and hints of milk chocolate. It is quite OK, but I think they forgot the turbo in this engine...

On tap at the flying saucer in KC. Pours a dark brown, ebony color. Two-fingerwidth, creamy, light tan head that remains moderately lacy. Aroma of lightly toasted caramel malts and some toffee. Some chocolate sweetness and a bit of a hop backing. Some berry fruit in there too. Light bodied and slightly watery feel. Taste is a little watered down too. Sweet almond nuttiness with that slightly burnt caramel malt taste. Slightly bitter with a mix of the berries. Finishes drier with a little bit of a lingering aftertaste. Overall, I give it credit because its actually a decent tasting brown ale, but not up to par with the best of them.

Dark dark brown that looks black, except through the light looks ruby. Two tan fingers of nicely lacing head. Dark creamy malt aroma, nuts and chocolate. Taste is pretty roasty malt for a brown, some caramel and chocolate.

Malt forward aroma with some off-putting aromas, like spilled stale beer. Dark and thick with a thick dense creamy sandy head. Thinner than expected with some almond and caramel in the malt, but metallic notes too. Meh.
