Cask conditioned - handpump Racehorse Northampton A nearly black beer with a whitish soapy head. The aroma has licquorice but also a bit of vinegar. The taste has both of those together with a hint of chocolate. This shows potential but wasn’t at its best I’m sure.

Cask at Cloisters Edinburgh ... Deep red brown ... sweet toffee malt nose ... pealy wally ... sweet fruit malts ... no real depth... but suprisingly drinable and more flavour if not depth than expected.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber with a small off white head. Etiolated in all areas: thin malt aroma and taste; slight ashy bitterness; not worth the trouble.

A Mes rate. Cask at the Ranelagh. Typically bland GK offering. Burnt caramel malt. Some apple and vanilla and just a very slight hint of citrus. Watery caramel finish. I’ve had worse from GK but it’s still arse.

Cask conditioned at The Wine Vaults, Banbury. Gold amber with white head. Popped in this pub on a tip off and yes this was on. All the hall marks of a similar ABV GK beer currently being sold cheaply, tea like dusty dry vegetal note with very thin malt. Not good.
