Commercial Description:
Ace Pear is made from a base of 100% pure, local apple juice. Pear essence is added to give the cider its distinctive pear taste; a taste so fresh and natural it is already proving as popular as its more traditional apple counterpart.

Just like the Ace Apple, this cider has a watered down jolly rancher flavor that is bland as far as fruit but sickly sweet. Not recommended for hard cider drinkers.

Bottled Secklow Hundred Milton Keynes This drink is just a shade more colourful than water. It has sweet pear juice on the nose with nail polish, perfume grape and maybe nutmeg?? Sweet and fizzy in the mouth. Pear and grape and actually fun, fun ,fun. Apple flavours. Note that pears are not mentioned in the ingredients at all

Bottle at Secklow Hundred, Milton Keynes, in Wetherspoons BF ’08. Very pale gold. Last time I saw something as pale as this was when a free bottle of Lambrini arrived with my Chinese takeaway meal. Aroma is iceberg lettuce going a bit brown round the edges but the middle is still OK. Also Barrett’s Sherbet Fountain and nail varnish. Taste is sweet with some sourness and something else, rather like unripe grapes. Could that be the ’pear essence’? Different, complex and slightly less good than Lambrini.
