The smell of cheese, yeast and hops, a little bit of acid (but not in a bad way), the smell of bread comes after 1-2 minutes. A huge frothy white head, excellent lacing and fully lasting. Cloudy body, rather dark orange. Moderate acidic flavor, long duration. The blond has a medium body, a oily texture and a izzy carbonation. Quite interesting belgian strong ale. Sweetish aroma with tart fruitiness, clove and some alcohol. Dryer flavor with pepper, clove and some musty-woody notes. Dry bitter-woody finish. Very highly carbonated, needs a goblet and some time to dissipate. ryan (1781), Beltsville, Maryland, USA

Served from a cool fridge, 07/06/07. Appearance: Cloudy, light orange. Thick white head. Pleasent Looking beer. Aroma: Bitter and Sour. Taste: As the aroma, bitter and sour. Found it quite similar to Orval. Mouth feels much fizz. Very lively beer to drink. Verdict: Definatly not the best trappist I’ve tasted but thats just me. Try this if you lke Orval or Boon Geuze. yespr (12407), Copenhagen O, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 6, 2007 33 cL bottle. Pours clear orange with a huge crispy head. Aroma yeasty, earth and fruity with caramel malt base beneath. Flavour starts sweet caramel, going into a complex fruit palate before the yeast becomes appearant. Finish holds a strong spiced bitterness with a clear alcohol presence. Certainly not one of my favourite trappists. Jerre (1768), Waregem, Belgium
