| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 11, 2007 A beautiful beer that pours a hazy gold with a large, fluffy, white head. The aroma hits you during the pour. Sweet, yeast, pineapple, alcohol, and lemony citrus. Flavor is spicey. Has yeast, banana, floral, some wheat-like notes, and the pineapple shows up near the end. Finishes warm from the alcohol and has a citrus bite to it. Some earth tones also come through in the end. The body is medium and packed a bunch of crbonation into it. I really enjoyed the varying flavors presented here, though I would like them to blend together a little more. I don’t know why I put off trying Achel for so long. Maria (6225), Thisted, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 9, 2007 The head is silky smooth and lasting. Actually it leaves lace on the sides and an island of foam on the surface. The aroma has notes of spice, yeast, fruit and honey. The mouthfeel is smooth and nice. Its a sweet beer with distinct notes of grapefruit and other fruits, like banana, and I also sense flowers, honey and malt. The finish is long and citrus, sweetness and bitterness meet in a nice dance on the tongue. A nice blond... CheersMate1 (794), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 5, 2007 Smells of lemons, or another citrus fruit. Citrus flavor and smell is obvious, but the taste simply does not exist as I thought it would. I was not pleased with the taste, but the texture was nice. It was pretty thick for a strong ale, and very fizzy but lacked the flavor I was hoping for. Head was nice and tight, and didn’t become a problem. I would say try once and then move on. ekstedt (2425), Göteborg, Sweden
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 3, 2007 Bottle. Hazy golden color with a big white head. Complex aroma with tropical fruits, citrus-like hops and yeast. Medium bodied and a little too carbonated. A somewhat sweet and alcoholic flavour gives way for a bitter finish.
