Crystal clear amber colour with a really tall white fluffy head that clings to the glass. Acidic sharp citrus aroma. Brettanomyces. Delicious crisp aroma. High carbonation level. Crisp malty flavours balanced by light sourish and hoppy flavours. Quite dry. Finishes slightly mouthpuckering with a drying sensation. Grassy, sparkling and malty. 01jimmen (6), umea, Sweden does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 23, 2007 The first trappist I ever tasted and it blew me away!A lovely gloden colour and a nice white head!Of course very fruity, flouery fresh beer! stouby (1956), Holbaek, Denmark

Light golden with a very large white head, excellent lacings. Aroma heavy malty (fruity, sdalt), light hoppy. Flavor heavy sweet, light bitter. Medium body, strong in alcohol. thebeertourist (2822), Oslo, Norway
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jan 19, 2007 Bottle. Hazy golden colour, quite a decent offwhite head. Herbal hop aroma, strong notes of sweet vegetables and cheese combined with hints of coriander. Sweet cheese flavours, also coriander and herbs. I cannot say I like this, despite the complexity of flavours. I even seem to remember it to be more pleasant and harmonious at a previous occasion. nick76 (2694), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jan 19, 2007 The aroma is yeasty (cheese like), with coriander, corn malt, and fruit (like citrus). The appearance starts with a huge head and then slowly falls to reveal a golden ale with lots of floating particles. the flavor is like the aroma with most of the alcohol being well hidden until the end, then you get a slight warming. The palate is thin but OK. jcp23 (47), Duluth, Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 16, 2007 Bottle was a bit out of date, but I snagged a few reduced anyway. Had sort of gotten away from Belgians for a while, but I won’t stray again! Excited to undertake my third authentic Trappist brew. Even taking the relative staleness into account, I found this to be a thoroughly enjoyable quaff. Not much aroma noticeable. Beautiful blonde-orange color, with nice thick white head and bubbles that just keep rising. Sheets of perfectly cascading lacing. Flavor is yeasty, citrusy, and spicy(clove), with a mildly tart, dry finish. Good medium-bodied, satisfying mouth feel. Alcohol is hardly detectable to the taste. Due to the out-of-dateness of the bottle, I’m rating this on a curve. At that, still better than the majority of fresh beers. jrob21 (1278), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
