Aromas are deep and rich and contain oak, brown liquor, malts, prunes, figs and strangely whiffs of gooseberry. It really wakes up your tongue. Very boozy and airy in the mouth. Rich maltiness along with raisins and good yeast flavours. Thick and delicious which really accentuates the woody, whiskey flavours. An excellent ale, really warms my cockles and makes my tongue very excited. It also went excellently with mushroom moussaka, the recipe for which may be found in Appetite for Ale. ruggedman (619), Portland, Maine, USA

Initial aroma of Band Aid, followed by some dark, sourish stewed fruit. Mouthfeel is smooth and soft, almost buttery. Fairly heavy, weepy rings of lacing. Flavor is dark, rather sourish and a bit fruity. A chocolate note develops as it warms but really rather simple overall. rodenbach99 (687), Longueuil, Quebec, Canada

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 22, 2009 Color is brown with a hint of orange. Carbonation is good with a fluffy tight head. Aroma is a spicy malt scent. Taste is light and dry. Starting with a lighter medium body it goes down crisp with a fizzy feel. Finish comes in with a light malt flavor and just a hint of sweetness and a fruity yeast flavor. After taste is dry with a faint alcohol feel on the end that seems to grow. Overall its a nice brew, a bit lighter then you would expect, but still shows some good Belgian flavors. Vas19 (299), Maryland, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 22, 2009 Pours a hazy copper brown with a lot of sediment and a huge tan head. Interesting aroma of light yeast and fruit. Flavor is sweet malt all around, but dominated by cherries later on. Only a little bready Belgian yeast. Very fruity and sweet with a lasting finish of fruit and grain. Geuzelambix (110), København, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 22, 2009 A good and fruity in the typical Belgian monestary style. Not overwhelming, but recommendable for most people who’s into that style.
