Nose is a bit plummish, sweet malt, fresh and pleasant to the senses with a sweet malt start and the top middling in its feel to the palate. Finish is stingingly acidic, the hops purposeful in their spicy bite, quite dry aftertaste and a nice warming sensation from the relatively high ABV, Quite a drinkable beer, and much better than the blond.

Aroma is mild Belgian yeasty, light fruity and mild caramel malty. Not a very pronounced aroma in anyway - but not faint either. Light fruity lingering flavour, solid plum to medium sweet raisin note. Light yeast spiced note and a very subdued caramel malt note towards a mild hint of chocolate smoothness. Ends with a light bitterness and a complex fruity mix. hoppopotamus (187), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 16, 2008 Huge off-white lacy head that lasts on top of a dark brown body. Aroma and taste are both very malty. The rest of the aroma is alcohol, spice, and some vague fruitiness, the flavor’s got some nuttiness, dried fruit, spice, and alcohol warmth. Finishes dry. For 7 bucks a bottle I wouldn’t buy it again but I’m glad I tried it. Capa (993), Yokosuka, Japan

Carbonated body thats abit thin. Spices, sugary malts, dark ripened fruits, and some yeast. Finish has a nice bite. Real enjoyable; will be coming back to this. beerbiere (101), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 7, 2008 Brown / burgundy (plum) color, huge ever growing long lasting fluffy white head. Aroma of grape, kiwi and yeast. A little sweet, quite acidic (very carbonated) and a moderate tannic bitterness. In terms of trappist, more bitter than average. Palate maybe a little thin since it is highly carbonated, but that makes it drinkable. A different trappist, very satisfying both as an appetizer or as a digestive beer. The sweet flavor has raisin, plums and light roasted malt. Good balance and warming alcohol in the end. daniellerose7 (119), new york, New York, USA

Bottle from Valhalla. Really, there is so much head on this one, but the bartender said, "drink it." and I did and it was good! Do it! ba2008 (25), USA

Aroma of cookie dough malt is just about perfect. Taste is also dominated by cookie dough malt with some nice sweet malt and a mild yeasty finish. Alcohol was well concealed with a nice full body.
