bottle, ca. 6 years old. Dark reddish-brown colour, no head. Fruity and malty, hints of wild berries and roasted malt.

Bottle from JB175. Thanks!
Pours deep and lively brown, with yeast aplenty roaming the boundaries and all points inbetween within the Ommegang glass into which it was poured. Head of offwhite looks as if the Cinnammon fairy sprinkled her magical-- and tasty-- dust atop the protein mountain. Aroma is a nice, spring-like nutty Saison, with hints of berry and nutmeg. Nice blend of dehydrated berries and nuts in the flavor; buttery finish with hints of cocoa and touches of chocolate. Nice mouthfeel. Great beer!

Bottle. Lots of foam on this, aroma is sweet. Nice dark brown color. Sweet, spicy, syrup like flavor, alot going on with this beer. Good, but not my favorite.

Very ripe tasting, slightly raisen like, very enjoyable....a very earthy Belgian beer, highly recommended.

Bottle pours a slightly hazy light redish brown witha huge foamy beige head. Clumpy heavy lacing. Aroma of over ripe apples pitted fruit, and musty earthen notes as well. Flavor is similar. A belgian brown. Some raisons, and a little spiciness. Cinnimon maybe. Intensly carbonated and the alchol is noticeable.

[Sampled in 2003.] One of the first trappists I ever had and I got som every great notes of what a real trappist is. Amounts of ingredients of dried fruits, plums, toffee, softness, some citrus, yeast of course and it all ends up in a nice finish.

Finally entering all my "Better Know a Style: Belgian Strong Ale" tasting 07 results. Aroma of dark fruit and vanilla. Looked marvelous, brown and large off-white head. Flavor was sweet malt and pear. Light, watery body.
