A great trappist I enjoyed while visiting Brugge, Belgium. A resident of Brugge suggested I try this after seeing me enjoying a Chimay, A wonderful dark and malty brew with "woody" aftertones. Great brew.

Bottle at the Hopdevil. It looks impressive. Extremely thick, ccreamy off-white head on top of a very dark red body. Lovely. The nose is very faint, bit vinuous, bit malty. The taste is, however, quite balanced and pleaasant. Malt, some plums, some raisins. Quite hoppy for a trappist... the tangy hopiness holds the end finish the aftertaste. Nice despite the lack of complexity, but I still don’t like dubbels much...

Dark brown ale with a wonderful aroma that’s a mix of chocolate, malty, and nut notes. The beer is slightly complex in the mouthfeel and finishes very smoothly. A winner, a total winner.

Dark brown. very nutty aroma with lots of carbination. tastes of roasted malts, coffee, and freash bread.. Sticky on the mouthfeel Before I forget... A big F.U. to The Shelton Bro’s Importers for putting the big import sticker on the bottom half of the back label.

Bottle, dark brown with a large pillowy beige head. A slightly ashen sweet malt aroma. Quite carbonated in the mouth, yeasty, with some roasted coffee malt.

0.33 l bottle. Red color with big fluffy head. Strong tart fruity and phenolic aroma with dull dark malt, raisins, figs and bubblegum. Tart, bready and yeasty flavor with raisins, plum and dry musty woodyness. Very highly carbonated. Quite dunkel weizen-like. Spicy yeast and dark malt does not mix well in this beer.
