Deep brown body, tall and lasting beige head. Smells of dark fruit and licorice; some alcohol is also perceived at first. Taste is sweet, with caramel, burnt sugar and raisins, balanced by a late bitterness. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel.

Mmmm.. What a wonderful beer this is!! Pours a dark ruby / mahogany into the glass with a off-white head that dissipates rather quickly but clings to the glass throughout drinking producing a beautiful lacing down the glass. Aroma of fruits, mainly raisins and prunes but with a hint of apples. Malt and fruit in taste with a hint of alcohol (the alcohol is well concealed in this one). Must get some more of this!! Absolutely wonderful!!

Poured dark copper into snifter. Initial active carbonation quickly dissipates to cling to the rim. Raisins and date aromas. Very interesting body - light to medium to full. More raisins and dates to a long trappist malt finish. Quite nice.

Bottle. Cloudy off black beer with a strong head. The aroma is fermented fruit and the flavour is thick, fruity, dry, fizzy and slightly coffee. Overall a nice beer.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber brown with a slightly off-white head. Creamy, sweet and fruity aroma. Flavour is sweetish and fruity with notes of alcohol and faint notes apple in the finish. Not a lot of body, but it works anyway. Not a very complex beer, but pretty nice. 28-01-06.

Very dark in color with creamy head. Smell is very rich of fruit. Malty flavor that last on the tongue. Was a very pleasent beer overall! Rerate 17 Apr 08 - Bottle: Poured a dark brown with a jello like tan cream head. The aroma is rich fruit with some earthy tones. The taste is a tangy leafy malt with some strong fruit. Still a solid beer but not the 4.7 I orginally rated it.
