Borup (996), Albertslund, Denmark Oct 3, 2008 Bottle. Dark bown with a big beige head. Aroma and flavour of spice, caramel, roasted malt and fruit. MaltOMeal (315), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Oct 1, 2008 bottle. Pours a clear, reddish-brown with a large off-white head. Funky, wet socks smell. Taste was of raisins, apples, caramel and spices. Mouthfeel was smooth with some dryness in the finish. Nice. cbeers21 (408), Miami, Florida, USA Sep 26, 2008 Nice heady pour great looking beer, pretty chuestnut brown. Funky sour aroma, green apples with bready vibes. Smoothed out berry and toasted malt qualities, both complex and gentle....nice. Brandyish berryfruits and dusty old library books in both smell and taste. One solid brew. DrDavid (332), Johnson, Vermont, USA Sep 20, 2008 (Bottle). Very fruity aroma. Deep orange brown color with a huge light tan head. Plum, cherry, and raisin dominates the flavor, along with some malty caramel. Luckily, sweetness does not overwhelm, and the finish develops a nice lingering semi-bitter fruit. Not as complex as Rochefort, but still quite good. armando629 (431), Budapest, Hungary Sep 10, 2008 Beautiful appearance with a cloudy reddish-brown, copper body and a long lasting beige, foamy head. The aroma opens slowly with a fruity character like raisins, dried plum; some vanilla, caramell, spices like coriander and ginger. Smooth mouthfeel with a liqueric and roasted taste of malts, caramel, fruity notes of plum, cherries and raisins. Complex, spiced body, nice dry finish.
