The finish almost reminds me of a slightly muted orval with some complex dry earthy flavors, wild yeast, woodiness, and spice. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA

A tad on the carbonated side for my tastes, and not as big and complex as I was hoping for considering the style and the maker. Alcohol is quite present throughout the session, lots of caramel and dark fruits, with some woody notes. Decent though. Mette (224), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Consumed at Het Waterhuis, Gent, May 2006 Dark brown colored body with a toasty tan head. Scents of raisens, sweet dates and toast. Similar flavors, some granola, dates, wood, raisens and figs. Very light sweetness, which I like, and palate is moderately thick, lightly prickly. An all-around solid beer. eaglefan538 (2405), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 6, 2006 A nice quad, poured a dark brown color with some orange hues and a small head. The lacing was very good. The aroma was lightly spiced, and full of some aromatic fruits (cherries and some sort of a berry). The mouthfeel was moderate (not too thick or too sweet / syrupy). Some sort of a wood (oak) flavor in the aftertaste? Not bad, not the best, better than the "imitations. Moz (613), Gothenburg, Sweden
