Commercial Description:
ACME CALIFORNIA BROWN ALE is creamy smooth after the style made famous in the north of England. It's toasty with hints of cherry and black currant. Acme Brown is brewed according to tradition with high dried and brown malt, and lightly finished with the Noble hops Tettnang and Hallertauer. The result is a very drinkable beer that can be enjoyed for an entire evening.

A very good beer to try, tastes of cloves, caramel and malt empowered the smooth ale. Followed by a slight citrus

Heavy bready, sourish malt aroma, a hint of perfumey or floral hops; light brown body with small creamy head; nutty and biscuity flavor, slightly dry finish, a tad astringent; overall, a decent brown

Bottle Pours a clear deep redish brown. Very nice thick dense light tan head. Thick sticky lacing. Sweet malty aromas with some fruity notes as weel. Possibly cherry or grape. Flavor is mainly a straight forward woody, malty theme. Plain and pleasant. A slightly bitter trailer and pretty light on the hops as well. Quite soft carbonation and a smooth but not very heavy feel. About what I expected a decent middle of the road, drinkable brown ale.

An average ale. This brown ale pours an amber orange color with a slight off-white head that last for the entire bottle. Not much aroma going on here other than a grassy, oaky aroma. The taste s much better with some oak, vanilla, and honey. It is sweetly pleasant with a small hops aftertaste that balances the beer quite well. I would buy it again if I wanted to drink something quality for an entire afternoon.

Extremely malty - when a beer is this malty I prefer it to be a pale beer such as a pale lager. Body is somewhat thin and watery and there is a corresponding vinegar tinge to the flavor. Have had some bad experiences with the Brown Ale style.

Amber color with a slight off white head. The taste is sweet with a dry malty body. Nice light hoppy palate.

An unclear dark brown beer with a nice thick light brown head. Not a lot going on in the aroma, some malty and nutty tones and a touch of brown sugar. More power in the flavor, though it still rather mild and easy drinkable. Roasted with some spices and hoppy bitterness.
