Feb 14, 2005 Reddish brown colour with small off white head. Malty aroma with some hoppy bitterness. Flavor is sweet, but not like I would have expected, I think this one lacks the caramel touch. Finish is dry and hoppy.

Feb 12, 2005 Bottled. Reddish brown with small white head. Faint aroma of hops. Extremely dry with dominating - almost overpowering - hoppiness. Hoppy finish wihtout being bitter. An OK beer, but I prefer some residual sweetness in a brown ale.

Feb 11, 2005 A clear brown beer with a small light brown head. The aroma is slightly sour. The flavor is dry and sweet but the background is slightly sour.

Feb 7, 2005 Rusty amber brown color with a deep hazen glow and steady streams of bubbles within. Creamy firm ivory hued cap sits about a finger high and settles very slowly to a solid skimming; lacing coats the glass well in thin foamy sheets and broken ink blobs.
Aroma is of stale chocolate and dry toasted malts, notes of saw dust.
Taste is mildly malty with a slight toasted grainyness, bits of cocoa and walnut. Overall, quite tame, mostly dry, slightly sweet, partial woodish hops. Its no feast of flavors but its subtle, easy balance is quietly tasteful.
Feel is just shy of medium with a fluffy dryness and mild sweetness. Finish has returns of cocoa and a bit of ridgid, slightly burnt, toasted grain.
A subtle, simple, and easy brew, but just doesn’t have enough jump across the palate to make it worth while for me. An OK, above average brown that would make for a good crossover beer.

Jan 31, 2005 Slightly cloudy brownish orange, thin tan head. Spicy, toasty aroma, with hints of cinnamon. Sharp, criap hop bite, with a nice crisp hop bite. Clean, mellow malt base. Very satisfying session ale, and thanks to Tikijeff for bringing me this one!

Jan 24, 2005 Bottle. Pours brown (really!) with a small tanned head. Nose is malty, slightly nutty and sweet. Maybe a hint of brown sugar. Light roasty notes as well. Taste is nicely hopped and semi-sweet. More nutty flavors and a pleasant roastiness to this. Body is a bit thin although carbonated enough. Finish is more roasty malt, some sweetened tones, and nuttiness. Decent session beer. Worth trying, I guess.

Jan 23, 2005 pours brownish orange with a small head that dissapeared quickly. Nice malty aroma. Malty and roasted nut flavor with a decent hop finish.
