Commercial Description:
ACME CALIFORNIA BROWN ALE is creamy smooth after the style made famous in the north of England. It's toasty with hints of cherry and black currant. Acme Brown is brewed according to tradition with high dried and brown malt, and lightly finished with the Noble hops Tettnang and Hallertauer. The result is a very drinkable beer that can be enjoyed for an entire evening.

Bottle. Low and hardly existing brown head. The body is hazy dark red. Aroma of caarame. otherwise prettey much alcohold and hops, mild though. Flavlr dominated pretty much cominated by alconol a high carbonation. Low carbonation and a long aftertaste. Sorry mates I do not get it. My expectations are a sweet caramel dominated beer without too much alcohol. Alcohol percentage is ok but sweetness cocoa caramel or goodness knows what I knoe. Too bad: Your beer lacks character.

Poured brown...like apple cider. Super hazy like an unfiltered wheat. No head at all. Slight malt aroma. Slight malt flavor with some weird metallic twang in the finish. Looks and tastes like someones first attemp at homebrew.

From the bottle this pours a clear brown body with a one-fingered head. Minimal lacing. The aroma has scents of chocolate and toffee with a light herbal bitterness. The flavor reminds me of those chocolate malt balls (we called them malteezers) that I ate as a kid. Some earthy bitterness and an odd touch of alcohol come in near the finish. Drinkable.

Not great, very malty. Almost sugary - I wouldn’t reccomend this for any hop fans.

Hazy brown. A small tan on the head. Aroma has hops, toffe and grass. Flavor brings caramellmalt, grass, flowers and sweetnes. It´s quite dry and has a winous touch.

Tasted 2007-04-06. 1,5 years old, 35,5cl. Clear amber colour with little head. Aroma of malt, molasses - very sweet. Not much taste - maybe too old. Tastes a bit like bread. Has some bitterness left. It’s not bad, and despite the low strength, it’s has gone trough the cellaring quite good.
