Commercial Description:
ACME CALIFORNIA BROWN ALE is creamy smooth after the style made famous in the north of England. It's toasty with hints of cherry and black currant. Acme Brown is brewed according to tradition with high dried and brown malt, and lightly finished with the Noble hops Tettnang and Hallertauer. The result is a very drinkable beer that can be enjoyed for an entire evening.

Bottle. Pours a hazy brown colour. Fair head. Toasty malty caramel aroma. The flavour has a good toasted maltiness with caramel, some chocolate and hops.

Warm and heavy, blackcurrant notes in the flavour. Caramel aroma, sweet and cloying. Murky brown.

Clear amber with a small dense light brown head. Aroma is that of mild sweet caramel with underlying notes of alchohol and flowers. Flavor is sweet and sirupy with a decent amount of bitter hobs taking over. Watery finish, and therefore hardly any aftertaste.

Bottle. A little muddy deep brown with a nice medium creamy yellowish head with a little lacing. Aroma is sweet with some maltyness and a definite sherry-like feel to it. Mouthfeel is creamy and airy. Flavour is sweet with some caramel, malty and again an oaky sherry creeps in. It dies out a touch before finishing on a chocolate bitter note.

Malted iced tea tinged nose with a touch of earthy noble hops. Clean and soft on the palate with soft fruit and arth notes, some malt sweetness with little residual sugar. Clean and slightly honeyed finish.

This amber brown beer has a nice. golden and lasting head. The aroma is malty and the flavour is in the very beginning rather thin, but then I sense notes of sweetness, honey and fruit and slowly a nice taste of roasted malt develops, and this impression is joined by a slight bitterness. A very nice brown ale...
