The aroma is malty and the flavour is in the very beginning rather thin, but then I sense notes of sweetness, honey and fruit and slowly a nice taste of roasted malt develops, and this impression is joined by a slight bitterness. A very nice brown ale... hayduke (1670), Eureka, California, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 12, 2006 Overall, not impressed. First off there may have been some skunk to this, then again it may have been an intended flavor. Very wet palate, with far less appeal than a Newcastle. ok color and decent head, but I prefer my beer to accel in flovor overall, and this one did not for me....Also, the label was different...yellow with a woman an a swing. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 8, 2006 Clear amberish brown color with long lasting thin off white head. Aroma is light with caramel and pale malts. Flavor seems to follow the aroma with sweet caramel malts and more grain like pale malts. There is just a hint of (maybe) citrus hops about midway to the finish. Nice brew for the style. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 31, 2006 Pours a cloudy medium brown with small head. Decent lacing. Mild malts in the flavor and seems sort of creamy to the palate. Not bad. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 19, 2006 12 oz bottle. hazy very light brown/dark amber beer, thick creamy tan head. Sweet biscuity malts, toast, caramel and a bit of rumminess. Sweet spicy hop notes over the rich malts. Flavour is decent, slightly oxidized hop notes are a bit nutty/cheesy though. Some herbal/leafy hops. Soft bitterness.
