Commercial Description:
ACME CALIFORNIA BROWN ALE is creamy smooth after the style made famous in the north of England. It's toasty with hints of cherry and black currant. Acme Brown is brewed according to tradition with high dried and brown malt, and lightly finished with the Noble hops Tettnang and Hallertauer. The result is a very drinkable beer that can be enjoyed for an entire evening.

This amber brown beer has a nice. golden and lasting head. The aroma is malty and the flavour is in the very beginning rather thin, but then I sense notes of sweetness, honey and fruit and slowly a nice taste of roasted malt develops, and this impression is joined by a slight bitterness. A very nice brown ale...

Acme seems to be a mass produced brew from this top flight brewery. This came from Trader Joes. 12 oz botttle poured dark brown. Medium tan head, with good lacing. Nose of malts and hops. Rich clean mouthfeel and flavors of roasted malts and nuts. Good hoppy finish. Very drinkable brew.

Overall, not impressed. First off there may have been some skunk to this, then again it may have been an intended flavor. Very wet palate, with far less appeal than a Newcastle. ok color and decent head, but I prefer my beer to accel in flovor overall, and this one did not for me....Also, the label was different...yellow with a woman an a swing.

Clear amberish brown color with long lasting thin off white head. Aroma is light with caramel and pale malts. Flavor seems to follow the aroma with sweet caramel malts and more grain like pale malts. There is just a hint of (maybe) citrus hops about midway to the finish. Nice brew for the style.

Pours a cloudy medium brown with small head. Decent lacing. Mild malts in the flavor and seems sort of creamy to the palate. Not bad.

12 oz bottle. hazy very light brown/dark amber beer, thick creamy tan head. Sweet biscuity malts, toast, caramel and a bit of rumminess. Sweet spicy hop notes over the rich malts. Flavour is decent, slightly oxidized hop notes are a bit nutty/cheesy though. Some herbal/leafy hops. Soft bitterness.
