Commercial Description:
ACME CALIFORNIA BROWN ALE is creamy smooth after the style made famous in the north of England. It's toasty with hints of cherry and black currant. Acme Brown is brewed according to tradition with high dried and brown malt, and lightly finished with the Noble hops Tettnang and Hallertauer. The result is a very drinkable beer that can be enjoyed for an entire evening.

(Bottle, Arena’s Deli & Beach Bar) Pours a cloudy deep amber with a large beige head. Aroma of toffee and toasted malt. Flavor of cocoa (like my protein mix), malt, and toffee.

This was crap-tastical. Smells like sweaty socks, vomit ,and fish. Looks like a great IIPA but looks NOTHING like a brown ale. lol. ruby red color with lather-y creamy white head. Flavors of sweat, blood, and tears. Lol, no but its terribly salty tasting, with no hints of brown ale-ness whatsoever. not good. sorry... *shudder*

Light to moderate malty aroma with a definate toasted, nutty flavor. Hints of toffee and maybe honey too. Moderately hoppy aroma of grass. Small to medium off-white head. Deep Copper/amber color. Finish was slightly bitter and light to medium mouth feel

The aroma has toffee, caramel, nuts and toasted malt. The appearance is rich amber brown with a medium head. The flavor has all the elements of the aroma plus a little fruit, wood, and coffee. There is more bitterness here than expected or should be for that matter. Thin palate. Overall it’s good tasting but the taste profile is more like a porter than a Brown Ale.

This is a very good balance of sweet malt, and light hops. I would definitly reach for this again.

Light brown color with small tan head. Nose of roasted malt and caramel. Flavor was of the same with very light hops. Finish was a little tangy.

Clear brown. Small, dense, tan head. Aroma of roasty caramel malt. Same taste with crisp, subtle hops in the finish. Grainy brown sugar aftertaste. Medium, balanced body. Flavor lacks much depth, but what’s there is tasty. Nice session brew, could drink a ton of it.
