Commercial Description:
Acme IPA is profoundly hoppy, finished with over a pound of fresh whole hops per barrel. The result of this generous hopping is a beer that is deliciously dry, and eminently drinkable in spite of its apparent strength.

Bottle bought at the Rover, Göteborg, Sweden. Clear amber with a medium off-white head. Fruity and a bit earthy maltiness, discrete floral hops. Medium bodied. Nice balance with a good bitter bite. Quite a bland IPA.

Bottle. Pours light copper with medium white head. Aroma is piney, some light citrus - pineapple, orange and apricot. Flavor is a little creamy doughy maltiness, but dominated by fruity hops. Finish is pretty bitter, piney, resiny hops. I feel that this beer is underrated, I like its bitter hop bite.

I thought for sure that this would be an improvement over the ACME APA. I was wrong. It pours a clear amber-orange with a pillowy, off-white head that sticks around for a while. The aroma is of funky grapefruit and pine with a faint caramel malt backing. Normally that is a good combo for an IPA, but something just smells "off" on this one. The palate is light to medium-bodied, slick and distinctively bitter and dry. The flavor is an initial hit of semi-sweet caramel malts with citric, piny and earthy/resinous hops following. This beer is quite bitter and dry at the end. I felt that it was seriously lacking balance, and the bitterness is almost harsh and dry like the flavor of a pecan shell, accompanied by plastic and cardboard notes. This is probably my least favorite IPA to date.

orange with a large white head. peachy, caramel malt, apricot aroma. flavor is relatively similar to aroma with more grapefruit, citrus notes. i enjoyed this better than the regular pale. slightly astringent alcohol, but the hops are strong enough to act as a deterrent. nice caramel malts too.

Bottle and served in my GI IPA tulip: A sunset hue with a huge foamy head with left excellent lace upon the glassware. The aroma has notes of husky grains, grassy and spicy hops, and a hint of faded grapefruit esters. The taste a mild blend of astringent hop bitterness and mild citric tones over a layer of biscuity malt. Pretty much a one trick pony but nothing wrong with that for this beer is a simple summer sipper.

Bottle picked up from the brewery in Fort Bragg. Hazy amber color with nice head. Has great hop flavor and faint(dry) malt. Nice aftertaste. Bring this to Texas.

Cloudy light orange pour. One finger head sits on top for quite a bit, actually surprised me. Nose is a bit citrus-y at first whiff, & the first taste is of the dry hops. The dry-ness persists, but is not over-the-top. Very clean.

Pours a slightly hazy dark gold with a very large head. This one’s a bit overcarbonated and very dry. There’s not a lot of hop flavor or aroma, it’s mainly the bitterness, which isn’t balanced because of the entire lack of sweetness.
