Commercial Description:
ACME CALIFORNIA PALE ALE is a smooth, clean ale with faint citrus and honey flavor notes and a dry finish. It is brewed with Yakima Valley hops and the finest American two-row malt, but with a measure of British specialty malt for depth. This easy drinking pale ale is a "session beer" which will be welcomed at neighborhood taverns and restaurants (and refrigerators) throughout the west.

This is alight but tasty, crisp ale. It is golden, bubbly, with a thin, dissipating head and has a very mild aroma of grain and flowery elements with a hint of citrus. The taste is similar, being very mild, but pleasant, and lasting with nice balance of light grain/bread with hints of apple and citrus, faint flowery bite, and a crisp, slightly flowery finish. It is refreshing, crisp, and highly drinkable while still providing good flavour.

Not being a hop head, I like this beer. It is the maltiest pale ale I have tasted. There are plenty of hops but they almost take a back seat to the malt. Mouth feel is very nice and creamy which is a result of the high carbonation activity keeping a layer of foam on top. Flavors include fruit and spice. Those who enjoy a more traditional pale ale will have problems with this malty version. As a malt fan I like this beer.

All time fav pale ale. Golden amber with very thick head. Very well carbonated with smooth finish.

Golden yellow in color with a nice frothy head. The aroma was light wit malt. The flavor was deep with malts and light in hops. This was a typical lawnmower beer. Good easy drinking beer for the masses. Clean and crisp.

Pours crystal clear sunny amber with a firm white head. The nose is real dirty with earthy yeast esthers and stale malt. The hops are barely present and seem to have either faded severly or were simply lackluster from the start. The body seems dominated by pilsner malt, with little hops from start to finish. Just bland and with no bottling date there is no way to tell if age is the culprit.

The 12 ounce bottle poured a crystal clear copper colored beverage with a modest sized cream colored frothy head that lasted fairly well and left some good lacing on the glass. The aroma was subtle and interesting with light notes of citrus and floral hops mixing with honey and some red oak along with the usual malt compliments. The body was medium-light with an average carbonation and a watery texture. The flavor starts out lightly bitter. The finish is medium-length and has a dry, soft bitterness at the end.

Very bland. Just flavorless. It almost comes across like Miller "High Life"

slightly cloudy straw yellow, fine thin head, slight hop aroma, light body and flavor, just a touch of bittering and flavoring hops, a pilsner knockoff
