Commercial Description:
ACME CALIFORNIA PALE ALE is a smooth, clean ale with faint citrus and honey flavor notes and a dry finish. It is brewed with Yakima Valley hops and the finest American two-row malt, but with a measure of British specialty malt for depth. This easy drinking pale ale is a "session beer" which will be welcomed at neighborhood taverns and restaurants (and refrigerators) throughout the west.

Pours a hazy orange with off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, and citrus. Interestingly malt dominates this APA, with little hops. Easy to drink, but thats all.

It is hard to believe North Coast produced these Acme beers since they are a good brewery and these beers just suck. Pours orange with a minor off-white head. The aroma has muddled citrus, stale malt and candy-ish sweetness. Medium body with sharp carbonation. The flavors start off with cardboard, lightly toasted caramel malt and a medicinal flavor. The finish is spicier and more astringent. I love North Coast and will continue to give them my business, but never again with this beer.

Pretty mild APA that cries out for more hops, but a relaxing, sessionable brew nonetheless. It’s golden bodies with a creamy white head and smells of sweet pale malts and mild citrusy hops. The latter has slightly more bite in the flavor, although not by much. All in all, quite drinkable.

This is not really a Pale Ale. Is it? Reminded me of a really beefed up Bud Light. No really. It brought back some old memories. Very slick texture. Probably a decent kraft beer starter for someone.

On tap @ Mad Mex: Pours a clear copper color with a white head. Aroma, pale malts, some spicy and grassy hops. Flavor, pale malts, caramel, grassy with some light citrus. Not too much in the way of bitterness, and just nothing special at all.

pours a darker orange. somewhat of a honey taste in it. not to much in the way of fruit flavor, which i could use more of. none to bitter either. i guess this is an "easy drinking pale ale". kind of weak.
