Commercial Description:
ACME CALIFORNIA PALE ALE is a smooth, clean ale with faint citrus and honey flavor notes and a dry finish. It is brewed with Yakima Valley hops and the finest American two-row malt, but with a measure of British specialty malt for depth. This easy drinking pale ale is a "session beer" which will be welcomed at neighborhood taverns and restaurants (and refrigerators) throughout the west.

(Bottle) Pours a murky golden color, with a small amount of head. The palate is rather weak for an APA. Bitterness is here, but seems to bring a little more of a sour note in the aftertaste. Not very good compared to other North Coast brews.

12oz bottle- A golden with a slight amber tint and a big white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, and a little flowery. Taste of mild hops followed by some sweetness then on the back end a mild bitterness. A bland pale. Little disappointed is this brew.

Pours with a frothy head. So-so mouth feel, light carbonation, slightly salty.

As much as I’ve enjoyed some other North Coast products, I’m really disappointed with this one. Appearance was a clear, dull amber. Aroma was lightly sweet and hoppy. Taste was weak and thin. Mouthfeel was similarly thin and not good. I’m not too impressed with this beer.

Bottle. Pours gold with white head. The aroma is grass and flowers, kind of like a meadow. The flavor is much the same, with a pretty typical malt support. The grass presence is a turn-off to me.
