Commercial Description:
ACME CALIFORNIA PALE ALE is a smooth, clean ale with faint citrus and honey flavor notes and a dry finish. It is brewed with Yakima Valley hops and the finest American two-row malt, but with a measure of British specialty malt for depth. This easy drinking pale ale is a "session beer" which will be welcomed at neighborhood taverns and restaurants (and refrigerators) throughout the west.

In the bottle at the HyVee Oktoberfest beer tasting in Council Bluffs. Golden with white frothy head. Smells like fruit punch. Flavor is floral, and fruity – like fruit punch and watermelon combined.

Bottle. Clear amber, frothy white head quickly diminishing. Not much in the way of aroma, just some slight malt. Biscuit to light caramel malt flavor with a bit of citrus hoppiness. Kind of thin and timid palate. Non-offensive, but there’s not much going on here either.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright orange-golden color with a large yellow-white head. The aroma is nutty, tangy, fruity and slightly earthy. The flavor is sharply bitter with a moderate floral and fruity hop presence that just does not seem to mix well. Other than the hops there is little of note with beer.

Looks and smaell like Miller Lite. Tastes OK for what it is. This would be a good lawnmower beer. Fantastic label!

12oz bottle. Clear and deep golden. Quickly diminishing white head. Small trace remains. Light malts apparent in the nose. Caramel and a little grass. Nutty. Palate is medium and zesty. Lively yet dulled flavors. Grassy and spicy hops. Malts are caramel and balanced. Hops hit the tart side of the tongue. Full. Not too shabby.

tap at the brewpub - This pale ale just has a very mild hop aroma. The flavor is also fairly light with a medium body and some mild hops supporting it. The finish is crisp with a touch of bitterness. It’s okay for a session beer.

Thank you to I think DocLock for sending this beer as an extra!

I have seen this beer in the stores a hundred times and never purchased it because I figured it was the run of the mill American Pale Ale. The beer pours a copper body and a fading white head. The aroma and flavor are sweet with cereal, hints of syrup and a citric zestyness. As suspected, this is the run of the mill craft APA.

Bottle Sept 2006. Golden color, not much head. Aroma wasn’t great, mixture of malt, citrus, biscuit. Taste was bland for a pale ale. Too sweet for the style and not enough hops. Usually a fan of Pale Ale’s, not in this case.
