Commercial Description:
ACME CALIFORNIA PALE ALE is a smooth, clean ale with faint citrus and honey flavor notes and a dry finish. It is brewed with Yakima Valley hops and the finest American two-row malt, but with a measure of British specialty malt for depth. This easy drinking pale ale is a "session beer" which will be welcomed at neighborhood taverns and restaurants (and refrigerators) throughout the west.

12oz bottle pours amber and slightly hazy with a nice fluffy white head. Aromas of light grains and grassy hops. Flavor is fruity with notes of pineapple, apple, and some caramel sweetness. Slight bitterness on the finish. Palate is light and airy and pretty well carbonated.

(Bottled) Somewhat hazy orange-golden color with a small head. Pleasant, very toffeeish, aromatic-nutty-hoppy aroma. The flavor has much less character, only some toffeeish malt and barely enough hops. Light to medium-bodied, quite bland palate with smooth carbonation. After the nice aroma, this one is quite a disappointment.

Bottle from Irishboy. Pours gold with a white head. Smells earthy with some hints of malt. Tastes of apples, pears, grapes and watery.

Kind of bland, aroma, some sweetness, mild hops, hints of corn? Taste is nice though, kind of tart, refreshing, some green apples. Dry finish. Overall, better beer than I was expecting, but not amazing.

A hazy orange beer with a dense orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of oranges, while the flavor is sweet malty with light notes of hops and fruit.

Pours to a glowing coppery body with a thick and rocky white head. The aroma is interesting. Dried pineapple. The flavor is toasty toffee and dried papaya and pineapple. Medium-light body. Light tartness.
