Commercial Description:
ACME CALIFORNIA PALE ALE is a smooth, clean ale with faint citrus and honey flavor notes and a dry finish. It is brewed with Yakima Valley hops and the finest American two-row malt, but with a measure of British specialty malt for depth. This easy drinking pale ale is a "session beer" which will be welcomed at neighborhood taverns and restaurants (and refrigerators) throughout the west.

Another beer in the line of North Coasts "Acme" beers, it continues on with the slightly above average, easy to forget label that the other beers have. The beer pours out a rather murky orange/amber like color with a 1"-2" white creamy head. Aroma is fresh pitted fruits, thin malts and a light bitter nose. Carbonation is above average, with a light sting on the tongue. Flavors has some subdued caramel malts, very restrained bitterness yet suprisingly fruity. My 2nd beer while watching the Lakers hang on to a ever-so close win against the Nuggets. I hate Kobe.

Pours a clear orange-amber color with a splotchy, cream colored head. The foam breaks apart into cloud-like clumps on the surface. A sudsy wash dries to the glass in skinny, jagged rings. The nose is not offensive, but it completely lacks excitement, showing primarily honey sweetened cereal grains and faint floral hops. Flavors are equally uninspired, sort of stale and grainy with a round honey sweetness. The floral hop notes lend little bitterness, barely noticeable if we’re being perfectly honest. Light bodied and lightly syrupy, the palate resembles sugar water more than anything else. Totally forgettable.

Looks as basic and boring as can be, nice head, but quickly dissappating and no real carbination. The aroma is a little fruity: pears, malts, nothing much else, maybe a little wheat. Wheat/grass is one of the major flavors. Nothing special all around.

Pours a dar amber color. Aroma was slight hops, maybe grass. Taste was crisp but not a lot of hops. Had high hopes but was kind of disappointed.

Overall kind of disapointed. I would expect more from North Coast. I guess the ACME name allows them to put out a cheaper "price point" beer. Reminds me of the marketing approach for 6-packs in Quebec. Bottle. Dark amber with a light lasting skiff. Grainy scent; grass and cookie. Surprisingly no big California hop scent. More like a golden ale. Grainy malt. Golden flavour. No big hops.

This golden pour has a dry, wheat, malt nose. Sweet, drinkable malt flavor. A decent session beer but nothing more.

From bottle. Rich honey aroma. Pale golden appearance with a decent frothy white head. Sweet floral flavour. Tang of citrus with a good bitter finish.

Dark copper pour with a very thin amount of tan head. Aroma is kind of sweet and malty with some hops and some caramel. Flavor was kind of sweet and caramelly at the beginning with some hops, not that much though, but a rather sweet and malty finish. Not much hops but a lot of caramel. Not in a good way though
