Commercial Description:
ACME CALIFORNIA PALE ALE is a smooth, clean ale with faint citrus and honey flavor notes and a dry finish. It is brewed with Yakima Valley hops and the finest American two-row malt, but with a measure of British specialty malt for depth. This easy drinking pale ale is a "session beer" which will be welcomed at neighborhood taverns and restaurants (and refrigerators) throughout the west.

I don’t know what it was but I enjoyed this beer. It was a good contrast between flavor, bitterness, color, and mouth feel. It is by no means great, but it is a very solid offering from the people at North Coast.

12 oz bottle. Not much aroma, looked ok with a fading head, and some lacing. Flavors were a little better. Some hoppiness but mostly bread and yeast. Not great, but I would drink it.

Certainly nothing wrong with it, I suppoe. Kind of a Cheerio’s smell to it, Flavor is a hint of woods, the cereal again - maybe whole grain toast. Well made, but not distinguished.

12oz. bottle. Hazy golden color with a small white head. Metallic aroma with some citrus hops. Mildly bitter hop flavor with some biscuit malt in the background. Very bland beer from a company I really like.

I really think this beer is underrated, esp. for the style. A nice darker pale, witha a floral aroma. This brewery can make all their beers except for the wheat - which should be abandoned by all breweries everywhere, forever.

Frothy copper. Very foamy beer. Not necessarily a good thing. Nose is very sour. Ale yeast is pretty clean in the nose but also very sour. Not a whole lot going on. Very faint sweetness. Hops? This is either an incredibly balanced beer or it is just kind of flavorless. Malts really predominmate this guy. You can taste the maris otter just after you swallow it. Citrus first. Orange rinds. Then sweet malts and finally a dry and slightly hopped finish. As stated very balanced. Quite restrained. Not bad but not great either. Mouthfeel is quite thin.
