Commercial Description:
ACME CALIFORNIA PALE ALE is a smooth, clean ale with faint citrus and honey flavor notes and a dry finish. It is brewed with Yakima Valley hops and the finest American two-row malt, but with a measure of British specialty malt for depth. This easy drinking pale ale is a "session beer" which will be welcomed at neighborhood taverns and restaurants (and refrigerators) throughout the west.

Based on the other beers from North Coast I expected more from this APA. Watery, little carbonation or aroma. If they were going for a session beer maybe it should of been an English Pale Ale and not an APA.

Honey colored body and minimal carbonation. Aroma of buttery diacetyl and a hint of citrus. Flavor is better with some prominent malts and spicy hops. Medium body. Very standard and unexceptional overall.

citrusy hops, lightly toasted malths, slightly grassy. Flavor is watery, toasted malt and grapefruit. Flavor is a bit of a disappointment after aroma - too passive

Bottled: Some hops in the nose, light amber color, flavor is light, watery, some citrus, some sweetness, overall kind of bland.

Amber colour with an average head. Aroma is lightly malty and floral. Flavour is watered down and a bit sweet. Not a good example of a California Pale Ale.

On tap: Pours a med. amber with a white thick head. Descent but mild aroma of cascade and crystal malt. WAY TOO MUCH DIACETYL. This is anything but smooth. I expected more from this brewer. This even has a watery cardboard body. Just a really poor Pale Ale.

On tap at brewery...weak ale, watery, very little flavor and a big let down from a style I usually enjoy. Session indeed...

(Bottle) Generic pale ale that features a mild and somewhat sweet maltiness with a bit of corn flavor, but a pretty weak hops bitterness; Consistently bland and boring from start to finish, but the finish is rather weak and flavorless; Aromas of, well, not much, it’s kinda sweet with maybe a little maltiness; Pale golden color with a slight cloudiness; Large, off white head has average retention, fading to a thin layer, but the head has trouble grabbing the glass
