Aroma is of pale malts, spruce. Flavor is rich, crreamy, caramel malt. Finishes with a nice hop bitterness. Lingering bitterness. Top beer for this top style. dkachur (2371), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 20, 2008 An absolutely flavorless ale, troublingly by one of the world’s greatest breweries. A real let down coming from North Coast. Flavor is very weak and stale. Nice appearance and aroma and an orange, bubbly pour are the only highlights here. Nothing else to speak very highly of. Sorry, North Coast. buzzoven (333), Japan
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jun 15, 2008 North Coast struck gold with Old Rasputin, but their pale ale doesn’t fare quite so well. Nice pale yellow pumpkin orange colour and a muted grassy smell. Taste is a bit underwhelming...slight malty caramel tones with a bitterness that just sort of sits there and doesn’t really fit into the scheme of things. The finish is too soapy for me to enjoy. There are some balance issues here. eboats (888), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 13, 2008 Bottled. Poured a hazy honey color with an off white head. Aroma is puke, grass, floral hops, and lemon. Flavor is a thin lemon, grass, and has vomit notes. Body is thin/medium. Collint (458), Sylva, North Carolina, USA

Aroma is citrus and malt, the malt is more overpowering though. This is crisp and refreshing, nothing special though. Acme IPA was much better FLnative80 (174), Orlando, Florida, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 10, 2008 Golden with big, foamy white head / Faint nose of grain and honey / Light body with little malt or hop character but for bitter finish / Simple flavors of grain with honey note / Blind-folded, I’d say its a pilsner.
