Apr 21, 2009 [Cask at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, Castleton, Derbyshire] Pours deep amber-brown with a medium creamy head. Tastes of malt, caramel and treacle; it’s very rich, very smooth, sweet and easy to drink. A great session beer.

Dec 12, 2008 Half, hand pulled at Whey Pat Tavern in St Andrews. Thin, white head, partly blanketing the glass. Dark amber body. Smell of caramel malts. Initial taste of sweet malt with a caramel edge. Discreet and dry bittersweet ending. Medium to thin bodied [27.10.2008].

Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, coffee notes, slat crackers. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. (080808)

Aug 21, 2008 Cask@GBBF2008. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is mild coffee, roast and some wood. Flavour is wood, sour coffee with some mild hints of wood. Nice fruity and wooden bitterness in aftertaste.
