| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 5, 2006 Cask at The White Horse, Oxford. Pours a thick cloudy straw color, with a small white head. High frequency, bright apple skin aroma, mixed with a leathery, woolly character. There has got to be some bret in this! Tart, earthy, a little medicinal flavor, but in a really good way. Some definite sweetness, but it finishes clean. Soft carbonation. Based on the ratings here, it must be pretty dreadful stuff at least some of the time. But based on this tasting, it has the potential to be fantastic at least once in awhile. I’m certainly no cider expert--maybe there is significant variation between apple harvests? Initial taste is quite sour, and there is pleasant sweetness and a dry finish, but the overall impression is watery, thin and really rather disappointing. 9.2.08 Cask at the White Horse, Broad Street, Oxford, on Ratebeer Oxford Day ’08. Five pints of this and your guaranteed immunity from everything including the misses. The cherub has now become an annual pilgramage for me. I live 120 miles away,so i make sure i get my quota on every visit. The misses doesent bother coming anymore as she says its a waste of time as i never now she is there. Now that cant be bad can it?A Highly recommended cider leaparsons (4748), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Mar 11, 2006 Bottle. 5% alcohol. Cloudy orange, gold in appearance. Aromas are sweet apples with some woody dryness. Flavours are soft apple followed by a very dry finish. Some woodiness, but mostly a bit chemical. Quite bitter on the aftertaste. Perhaps not so good from the bottle.
