rauchbier (2874), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England Feb 8, 2005 Bottled, from Oud Arsenaal, Antwerpen. Deep ruby red, thin pale beige head and gentle condition. Sweet dubbel like chocolate maltiness in the nose with a background smokiness. Soft and sweet in the mouth with a touch of roast barley and more lurking smokiness. Toasted bread with slightly burnt crusts in the finish and a background smokiness suggesting you haven’t turned off the grill.
