Cask @ Buckeye Brewing 3-20-04. Wow, this was nice. Brown color, thick tan head with lacing. Extremely smooth and pleasing on the palate. Caramel malty notes balanced perfectly. Frank (1071), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Brown amber with a thin frothy head and little spots of lace. Mild, earthy aroma. Pretty bland. Lightly earthy, lightly fruity. A bit thin on the palate with only a slight bit of lingering bitterness in the finish. Like Adnams Bitter, I find this quite forgettable. footy (334), scottsdale, Arizona, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 13, 2004 This is a good proper English style bitter. I would rely on it if in a pub. They attempt for the naval theme here with the broadside... hrm, I seem to think only hotsy-totsy officers in the formal Royal Navy would drink this... not pirates. Solid example of style, not too bitter, not watery, not out of wack. Just solid. Cask, tapped day before, at the Gaslight. Jine (896), Nutley, New Jersey, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 1, 2004 Cask. Amber-red colour with a thin creamy off-white head. Nice cherry aroma, a bit of hop resin and spice. Quite full-bodied. Flavour is also fruity and malty. A hint of woody character with a slftly bitter finish. Tasty, well-balanced brew.
