A regular that doesn’t come my way often enough. A traditional regular that comes in quite heavy. OK.

cask at gbbf: not as bitter as a bitter or what you think it should be....mostly malt nut overtones with a bit of the kent goldings pushing. somwhat darker then most bitters. see photo.

Mid-brown/amber. Some bitterness, but fruit and malt predominate. Well balanced finish with some sweetness. Good for a couple of pints, but a little heavy for a session. Cask, Kings Head, Orford, Suffolk, May 2003.

I’m generally not a huge ESB fan but this is very smooth and drinkable. Even though it is a bitter, it’s not really that bitter. Has enough malt to make me happy.

(Cask Draft: O’Brien’s in San Diego, CA) Wow, this is the ultimate lunch beer, and since it's lunchtime, this worked out perfectly; I could drink several of these and still get back to work with a clear head and steady walk; Very mellow beer, lightly malty and even lighter fruitiness and hoppiness; Amberish color; Small, bubbly head dissipates rapidly

Cask at the Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough. A great beer. Amber brown, lively, with a smooth, clean, malt, slightly hoppy taste.
