(Pint off handpump at the Cock in Diss, Norfolk) Beautiful dark amber/copper colour with a good white head, perhaps a hint of red? Maybe it was just my eyes. Great looking beer. Smelt rich fruity, with the sense that it was going to fairly rich. Felt very creamy and smooth on the palate but perhaps lost some fullness towards the end the mouthful. A well balanced bitterness with sweet malt and fruit overtones. Not bad but I think the bottled version is better, more kick and a livlier taste perhaps. This felt a bit standard strong bitter.

Small offwhite coarseish head. Deep red-brown body. Delicately balanced and harmonic fruity floral earthy aroma with wooden herbal notes. Dry-sweetish floral black berry and wood taste, again in excellent harmony and balance, with caramelly earthy port notes. Soft, smooth mouthfeel. Light body. Dry wooden blackberry aftertaste with dusty resiny notes. Nuts and roasted almonds, too. Gorgeous. (0.25l cask, The Warrington Hotel, Maida Vale, London.)

Cask at the Dragon, Nottingham. This dark copper beer has a fruity aroma and a juicy malty flavour with dark fruits: plums, raisins, and a gentle bitterness.
