Slightly malty nose, fairly bland at first, but some nice earthy/caramel qualities show up, and hints of vanilla. Mellow and also a bit maple-y. Very nice overall. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 15, 2006 Cask @ The Dew Drop Inn, Summertown (summer ’05). Dark amber color, white head, that was not there for long. Aroma was malty, with some hop and nut, but weak. Bitter, but not as smooth as other bitters I had had. I picked up more hop flavor than malt, which made the beer interesting, but nothing savory. Good bitter, but not the best dnas2 (650), Yelverton, Devon., Devon, England

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 23, 2005 Aroma is really malty, quite a bit of sweetness, however this disperses into almost nothing as the pint goes on. Taste is also malty but the hops shows up later in the mouth, intresting pint however quite different from the bottled though maybe not as good.
