A fine, heartwarming English Beer, rich in flavours of malt and hops.

A Mes rate: Creamy nose with dark fruits (raspberry and blackberry) and hints of spruce / pine. Amazing red-brown looks. Kinda like a kriek but darker. Only thing that gives it away looks wise is the chunky off white head which lasts well and leaves a reasonable amount of lacing. There is also slight sweetness in the nose now it has warmed a little. Flavour is semi- sweet with hints of raspberry and cream and slight iron filings. Plenty of hops and a little sweet malt. Finish is lengthy with lots of hoppy bitterness. A little too much at first but it mellows out into something more palatable.

In the bottle at the Crescent Moon. Pours a mahogany red with a white head. Unique medicinal aroma with fruity and bitter essence. Flavor is as rich as a barleywine without the mind-bending alcohol content. Full body with sweetness and a residual strong bitter bite. I like.

Slightly hazy dark ruby brown with a large, persistent beige head. Initial fruity apple aroma gives way to a smooth creamy caramel nut base, and as it warms some peppery alcohol. Lovely persistent bitterness consistent with good pommy ales, and some of that caramel comes through as satisfying sweetness. The body is a bit light considering, although the carbonation is at a delicious median. A lasting bitterness has you appreciating this beer for quite a while after placing the glass down. Quite a good drop.

There is a light floral aroma. The color is a reddish brown and the head is tan and long lasting. There is some lacing. The flavor is malty sweet with a slight bitter aftertaste.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a translucent red with decent amount of head. Has a sickeningly sweet taste followed by lingering bitter aftertaste, the moderately repulsive combination of which I have always associated, though probably not correctly, with English beers.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a nice red with a rich frothy head that lingers. Aroma is slightly sweet. Flavor is slightly sweet and bitter at the same time. Caramel flavors are strongest. Flavor improves as the beer warms. Very nice.

Reddish brown with towering head that settles over the hours. Nice tight little musty aroma. Hearty nutty, sweet ale flavors. Grape, caramel, pine. Good warming beer that’s not too heavy.

Bottled. Pours a clear amber, with a cream coloured big head. Fruity malty aroma, with notes of caramel and hops. Taste is Fruity, some caramel, and a nice medium mouyhfeel. I really likes this one
