Bottle, picked up at Tesco, Bicester, Oxon had this 29-05-08 Pours gold with a white head, I don’t wish to dampen what I believe to be a good idea, but this beer was rather forgettable, bit thin and aside from some biscuity malts and a slight sharpness I really struggled to put pen to paper. I applaud Adnams for what they’e doing on the eco front but I hope that they start putting a bit more effort into their next venture as this was more flavour neutral than carbon neutral.

500 ml bottle, now available in Norway. ABV is 4.3%. Crystal clear golden colour, big to moderate head. Moderate aroma of grain and citrussy hops. The flavour is dry and refreshing with distinct and pleasant notes of citrussy Boadicea hops throughout, but the malts do not come up front. Moderate but nice bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. All the "environment friendly" hype aside, this is a fairly decent refreshment ale, not exceptional but nice enough.

Bottle. Golden with a small white head. Aromas are sweet biscuit malts with definate lime as previously noted. Light floral noted but its the acitidy that wins through. Flavours are sweet grain with tea. Soft lime towards the finish.

Didn’t enjoy this much, very gassy for an ale. Nicer as the pint went on and left a fairly standard golden ale. Not fantastic imo.

Bottled. A clear golden/copper coloured headless beer. I’m grateful to previous raters for spotting the lime jelly in this. Absolutely spot on! Some grass and tea leaves also. This might just be the most disappointing Adnams beer I’ve ever had. A bit too chewy and husky, and not enough hoppiness. Nice idea, poor execution.

This actually holds up quite well as a beer, and not just a concept. Inviting lemon and lime jelly aroma developing a rub of hopleaf and the faintest whiff of barnyard. Suits me fine. Clean, lemony and grassy with some nutty pale malt and maize-like softness on the end. Hops present, quenching and good. It’s a ludicrous comparison, but Westy Blond springs to mind. Prefer it to some of Adnams cask bitters. Way better than expected.
