imdownthepub (3995), Banbury, Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England Apr 23, 2007 Bottled, pasteurised, 500ml. Orange gold with white head. Adnams are one of my favourite breweries and this was given to me at a meet the Brewer night, so I wanted to be generous, but it has nowhere near the character of the cask beer, it is sharp and a little tinny and for its ABV, somewhat thin. There is a reasonable hoppiness on the finish, but I did expect so much more.
tupalev (2285), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 13, 2008 Sample at TFOB ’08 from the bottle. Medium orange, small white head. Decent aroma - sweet, citrus. Taste is sweet as well, but light enough to be refreshing. More hops than I was expecting. Good stuff. mabel (1583), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 13, 2008 [1529-20080712] 500mL bottle. Sweet caramelized pine needles aroma has a leafy malt tinge. Clear, medium orange body with a small quick foamy white head. Sweet grainy caramelized malt flavour. Light-medium body. OK, if a little boring.
(@ Volo; Toronto, ON; w/ jerc) blankboy (2562), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 12, 2008 Bottle (500ml) shared with HogTownHarry at Volo. Pours a clear golden-orange with an average size diminishing frothy white head. Aroma’s sweet,a touch sugary, along with light floral hops, some fruit and a hint of vegetal notes. Flavour, also sweet, of caramel malt, grain, a bit of honey and a light bitter finish. Average bodied. Nothing great but it’s alright. HogTownHarry (3175), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Aug 12, 2008 Bottle (500ml). Shared with blankboy at Volo. Clear amber pour with a large fluffy sticky white head. Floral clover aroma, slightly dusty and spicy - the taste seems quite honey-like, very sweet, with floral bitterness in the finish not quite catching up to the caramel. Average body, slightly rosehip astringency, with a quick sweet finish. Refreshing, if too sweet, and fairly unmemorable. jbrus (4095), Delft, Netherlands Aug 11, 2008 Bottle@Home. Hints of citrus and hop in the aroma. Golden color, white irregular head, fair lace. Malty, light herbal/floral, light bitter, some citrus. Medium body. Refreshing and clean.
