Commercial Description:
Cask; Special.
Adnams Flagship has been brewed exclusively to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar and to signal our admiration and respect for the great maritime tradition of England's East Coast. It's a seaworthy 4.3% ABV brew, with fragrant aromas of hops and spices and hints of banana. Look further and you'll pick up traces of pepper, dark fruits and caramelized orange. Available for a limited period from the end of May, across East Anglia and London only. But, don't despair if you live further afield - we plan to launch Flagship nationally later on in the year.

[Cask at Charlies Bar, Copenhagen] A hazy orange beer with an OK off-white head. The aroma is sweet and very fruity - and so is the flavor, and here the fruitiness reveals peaches, and leads to a slightly bitter dry finish.

Cask. Dark copper colour. Mild flavour, hint of green apple, very drinkable. A little sweet. Sourish bitterness in aftertaste.

Dark amber color. Light malt aroma. Some malt and caramel taste, correct bitterness, but also a touch of vegetables. Not particularly pleasant.

Cask handpull at Bridge House, Southwark. Deep gold, with thin white head. Eggy yeasty nose with caramel/toffee. Fullish in mouth, with bitter finish. Some candied orange, but compared with broadside, not that good

Cask@The Roebuck, Richmond, London. A bad bitter it has to be said. Stale malt, with some hints at hops in the finish. Extremely boring and a big struggle to get through a whole pint.

Cask conditioned at Charlies. Amber coloured. Ligh aroma with eggy notes. Sweet and slightly malty flavour. Thin and boring.

Cask (handpump) at the Bridge House, Southwark. Adnams’ Trafalgar offering. Light amber colour. Fresh and juicy, fruit aroma. Some caramel notes in the flavour that don’t really sit too well with the delicate style of this beer. Some soft hops. A touch of sweetness to start with, becoming bittersweet on the finish. Not too demanding but a reasonably tasty beer served in good condition.

Cask, New Road Inn, Leicester. Amber with a dense off-white head. Aromas are sweet caramel with bags of citrus, spices and sulphur follow. Flavours are, again, fruity with dry biscuit malts. Has bittersweet lemon and grapefruit with the occassional lemon zestiness. Quite bitter on the finish. Decent stuff.
