"Full Flavoured Ale"
A traditional dark ruby ale, delivering full flavour at just 4% ABV. Full aromatic barley malts and an exquisite blend of hops combined to create a wonderful balance of sweet biscuit and subtle fruit flavours, with a hint of chocolate bitterness.

[ Courtesy of chriso ]. Clear medium amber color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, toffee, berry, vanilla notes. Bottled (From Citymarket, Pori). Deep copper colour with mediumsized beige head and good lace. Aroma is roasted malts, some dark berries, wood and also some slight caramel maltyness lurking. Flavour is fruity, slightly roasted and also has some dark berries as well as chocolate in it. The chocolate grows in the finish and aftertaste. A bit thin, but otherwise very drinkable. As it warms up the flavour gets some nuttyness as well.

500ml bottle at Chris o New Year tasting 08/09. Chestnut, lasting beige head. Again, it’s a pretty solid malty best bitter. It’s fine.

Bottled (BB 01/2010). Clear, deep ruby color, small beige head. Aroma has mentholic hops, toffee, caramel and hints of vanilla. Tickling carbonation. Decent body for 4.0 % beer. Toffeish-sweetish with some dark fruity (raisin cake) flavors. Finish is more on the hoppy side. Ok pasteurised English beer.

Bottle from Tbone, thanks! Dark brown color. Cookie caramel and licorice in both aroma and flavor. Thin, grapes. Some earthy hops. Sweet and sticky. Just a hint of salt. Tasty but not my taste.

A Mes rate. Bottle at Chris O’s pre NYE tasting. While plenty of folks sat round the table thought this was really good, I have to say it didn’t really float my boat. Decent enough but too much caramel and not enough character for me. I should probably try this again to be sure as people I have plenty of respect for enjoyed it a lot. Maybe I just don’t know anything about beer...

Bottle at chris o’s teabag for 2009 tasting. Alround rating: Brown ale malts, bitter, grassy small citrus character off the hops. Tasty enough.

Bottle thanks to my wife’s coworker: Pours a transparent dark copper amber with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of fresh grassy English hops and sweet toasty caramel malt with a touch of doughy yeast. Starts with average fullness and some sweet chewy caramel malts well-balanced with a fresh lightly piny hoppiness before a smooth bittersweet finish. A nice mild ale.
