| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 26, 2009 Bottle. Amber colour with medium white head which soon disappears. Hops and caramel in the nose. The taste is of lightly roasted malt. The finish is a bit watery with a dry bitter finish. Not bad but Adnams make better beers than this.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 17, 2009 [500ml bottle from Tesco’s, Reading] Pours amber-red with a small beige head. Light yet prickly carbonation. Nice fresh aroma. Initial flavour is unfortunately that metal-and-cardboard flavour of a pasteurised beer (unusual for Adnams, who normally manage to avoid it). However, this is soon washed away by the classic Adnams malt. Lots of biscuit, some caramel and a little roasted malt with a surprisingly dry and refreshing bitter finish. It grew on me over the bottle, but it’s still well short of Adnams’ best. Good effort for the low ABV though.
